Mainer's And How The Outside World Sees Them (Since technically I am "A person from Away")

I thought everyone might enjoy this whether you have ever lived in Maine, Visited, or are a Mainiac or Mainer, you will enjoy this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by,
you might live in Maine...
If you're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because Moosehead Lake is the coldest spot in the nation,
you might live in Maine...
If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May,
you might live in Maine...
If you instinctively walk like a penguin for six months out of the year,
you might live in Maine...
If someone in a store offers you assistance, and they don't work there,
You might live in Maine...
If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of hisforehead,
you might live in Maine...
If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time,
you might live in Maine...
If your town has an equal number of bars and churches,
you might live in Maine...
If you have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed awrong number,
you might live in Maine...
YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRUE MAINER WHEN:
**Mainiacs is a revered term, only given to those who are 5th generation (or more) born in Maine.
**If you were born in Maine but you are 1st - 4th generation, you're a Mainer.
The Old and The Young
I have come to find that the life I live is unlike any one I know.  The various trials and tribulations I have been through have shaped me in such a way that I do not easily relate to others my age.  Even more so, at this school I find it very difficult to meet anyone even remotely my age period, they are almost all 10 years younger than I and do not understand certain fundamentals of the "real world" that are signs of maturity.  I only hope that this coming school year brings greater understanding of diversity.
Sleeplessness and the atereffects...
Here it is almost 3 am and my sleeping pill hasn't worked yet, even if I can get my sleep schedule rebooted It will get screwed up all over again this weekend. With the world holding it breath in anticipation for the final installment of the phenominally successful and addicting Harry Potter series. I am sure I will write a very large entry after I have fiinished the book.
Talk to you all soon!
Lost Causes...
I have worked hard on making my Blog entries look good. But, I have now had this Blog for two months and I am beginning to think that I am the only one that reads it. It is so frustrating to be SSOOOO alone in the world that even cyberspace (open to a few billion people) shuns and ignores you. I hate being so alone, so if you are actually looking at and reading this Blog, PLEASE comment on it so I know!
Tenacious To The Core!
In the new song by Rascal Flatts "Stand" (2006) the chorus is:
Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break
Cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong
Wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand.
I often feel that this song is referring to me. I need to continuously remind myself that I have already overcome SOOO much. Whatever life is gonna through at me next is smoke compared to the eruptions it has thrown me in the past. It can be so very difficult because I am weary from the past to the detriment of the present. Songs like this one and "Mountains" by Lonestar are just a couple of the uplifting and motivating soundtracks to my life that continue to remind me that I can do anything; and I have already proven that to myself time and time again!
The Hand Dealt
As I sit here, I look at the hand life has dealt me.
A protector turned prosecutor, who does not listen to a word I say,
yet demands that I listen to every word he says.
An angel on Earth is now in heaven,
for a decade now she has watched over me.
Though I know she is there,
I cannot sense her love,
I cannot feel her affection.
A demon soul, once called father,
now with no life in my eyes and heart,
still breathes a stones throw away,
so toxic was he,
I am still dealing with the aftereffects of his mind.
A colony of ants live near,
with sub servant polite attentions to the queen and her royal siblings, so preoccupied inward that the colony dies.
I continue to try to help others learn to accept and move past
that which they have no control over.
I heal the wounds inflicted by unknowing souls that have no sight,
they are blind to the trials of others and
the intensity to which they can be inflicted.
With a steel resilience to overcome the callousness of blood,
I move towards the cool and refreshing spring of hope
that runs clear and eternal for infinite renewals.
Beginnings...
As time passes by me in a blur of trials and tribulations,
the overall affect is slowly becoming less ambiguous.
Though not yet discernible by the heart or mind,
the imagination inspires a grain of knowledge
that is the genesis of a new vast universe unto itself.
The consciousness need only be open to the extraordinary possibilities that flow from the infinite universe that is existence.
I have often looked at my life as a battle.
This battle I do not seem to have much success in winning,
rather I simply survive.
I soldier on in the hopes that one day I will not be as alone as I am,
I know that there are many people who care about me
even though I don't fully allow them in.
I hope by posting this that some people can understand over time as I do the same.
